The selection process will consist of a qualifying Physical Eligibility and Physical Efficiency Test followed by an objective-type offline written competitive examination.
Post Details
- Scaler – Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation: 200 Vacancies
The post is classified as Group ‘C’ and is described in the notification as non-gazetted, temporary and covered under EPF.
Qualification
Candidates applying for the Scaler post must fulfil the following educational qualification:
- Must have passed Intermediate / 12th Class or equivalent examination.
- The qualification must be from a Board/Council established by law in India or a recognized school in Uttarakhand.
- The candidate must have studied Science or Mathematics as prescribed in the notification.
Preferential Qualification
Other things being equal, preference will be given to candidates who possess either of the following:
- At least 2 years of service in the Territorial Army; or
- NCC “B” or “C” Certificate.
Salary Details
- Pay Scale: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200
- Pay Level: Level-02
The above pay scale is the salary structure mentioned in the official notification. Other admissible benefits and allowances will be applicable as per government rules.
Age Limit
The age will be calculated as on 01 July 2026.
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 28 Years
- Candidates should be born after 01 July 1998 and not after 01 July 2008, as prescribed in the notification.
Age Relaxation:
- Uttarakhand SC/ST/OBC: 5 years
- Uttarakhand PwD Candidates: 10 years for Group ‘C’ posts as prescribed
- Dependents of Freedom Fighters: 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as per applicable government rules
Physical Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil the prescribed physical standards for the Scaler post.
- Male Height: 163 cm
- Female Height: 150 cm
- Chest: 5 cm expansion for male candidates
For candidates belonging to the categories/regions specifically mentioned in the notification, including Scheduled Tribes, Gorkha, Nepali, Assamese, Ladakhi, Sikkimese, Bhutanese, Garhwali, Kumaoni, Naga, Arunachal Pradesh, Lahaul & Spiti and Meghalaya, the minimum height standard is:
- Male: 152 cm
- Female: 145 cm
Physical Efficiency Test
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is a qualifying stage. Candidates must meet the prescribed standards.
- Running – Male: 25 km within a maximum of 4 hours
- Running – Female: 14 km within a maximum of 4 hours
- Shot Put – Male: 5 metres with 7.275 kg shot
- Shot Put – Female: 3.50 metres
- Long Jump – Male: 4 metres
- Long Jump – Female: 2 metres
- High Jump – Male: 1.40 metres
- High Jump – Female: 0.70 metres
Candidates who qualify in the running event will be allowed to participate in the shot put, long jump and high jump tests. For each of these events, candidates will get up to three opportunities to achieve the prescribed qualifying standard.
Selection Process
The selection process will be completed in two stages:
- Stage 1: Qualifying Physical Eligibility Test and Physical Efficiency Test
- Stage 2: Offline Objective-Type Written Competitive Examination
Only candidates declared successful in the physical stages will be eligible to appear in the written competitive examination.
Written Examination
- Examination Type: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions
- Total Marks: 400 Marks
- Duration: 2 Hours
- Mode: Offline
- Syllabus: Questions related to the educational qualification prescribed for the post

Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- UR / EWS / OBC: 45%
- SC / ST: 35%
Negative Marking
- One-fourth of the marks prescribed for a question will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- If more than one option is marked for a question, it will be treated as a wrong answer.
- No negative mark will be awarded for an unanswered question.
- Use of whitener, scratching or cutting options on the OMR sheet is prohibited and may attract negative marking as specified.
Merit List
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written competitive examination.
- If two or more candidates obtain equal marks, seniority will be determined based on age.
- The older candidate will be placed above the younger candidate in case of equal marks.
- If both marks and age are equal, preference will be determined according to the prescribed rules, including alphabetical order where applicable.
- The final selected candidates will be published on the UKSSSC official website.
