Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a Government of India Undertaking, has announced recruitment for 291 Generalist and Specialist Officer vacancies in various scales. Qualification

The educational qualification and work experience vary according to the post. Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification from a Government-recognized University or Institution and fulfil the required post-qualification experience.

Manager – Branch Management:

• Degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Public Sector Bank or Scheduled Private Sector Bank.
• At least 2 years of the required experience should be in Branch Banking.

Manager – IT:

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication or Electronics & Instrumentation.
• OR MCA.
• OR M.Sc. in Computer Science/IT.
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in IT, including at least 3 years in Banking/BFSI.

Information Security / Information Security Audit Posts:

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Cyber Security or Information Security, as applicable.
• M.E./M.Tech in the relevant disciplines and MCA are also accepted for applicable posts.
• Relevant post-qualification experience in Information Security, IS Audit, Cyber Security, IT or related domains is required as prescribed for each post.

IT / Database / Network / Cyber Security Specialist Posts:

• B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech or MCA in the relevant technology discipline as prescribed for the post.
• Relevant professional experience in IT, database administration, network operations, cyber security or related technical domains is required.

Manager / Senior Manager – Credit:

• Bachelor’s Degree with MBA (Finance), PGDBA, PGDBM or Master of Management Studies (Finance).
• OR Chartered Accountant (CA).
• OR Cost Management Accountant (CMA).
• Relevant post-qualification experience in banking/financial institutions and credit is required.

Senior Manager – Risk:

• Graduation in any discipline with MBA (Finance), PGDM (Finance), PGDBF, Master of Financial Management, Master of Finance and Control, or Master’s Degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics.
• OR Graduation in any discipline with the prescribed Financial Risk Management certification from GARP or Professional Risk Management certification from PRMIA.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in banking, NBFC, financial institution or related areas of Risk, Credit, Forex, Treasury or Finance.

Assistant Manager – Security:

• Graduate from a recognized University or equivalent.
• A minimum 3-month certification course in Computer/Information Technology or Computer Science-related qualification is mandatory.
• Candidates must satisfy the prescribed experience requirements in the Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces or Police service.

Salary Details

• JMGS Scale I: Rs. 48,480/- to Rs. 85,290/-
• MMGS Scale II: Rs. 64,820/- to Rs. 93,960/-
• MMGS Scale III: Rs. 85,920/- to Rs. 1,05,280/-

In addition to the basic pay scale, eligible employees will receive DA, HRA, CCA and other allowances/perquisites as applicable under Bank rules.

Age Limit

The age limit varies according to the post and will be calculated as on 1st August 2026.

• Manager – Branch Management: 23 to 33 Years
• Manager – IT / Information Security / Information Security Audit: 25 to 35 Years
• Senior Manager Posts: Generally 25 to 35 Years, depending on the post
• Manager – Credit: 23 to 33 Years
• Assistant Manager – Security: 30 to 45 Years

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 Years
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 Years
• Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 Years
• Eligible Ex-Servicemen: 5 Years, subject to Government guidelines

• All Other Candidates including OBC & EWS: Rs. 1,000/- including GST

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of an Online Examination followed by Interview.

• Final Merit List

Candidates who qualify in the Online Examination will be called for the Personal Interview. The Bank may shortlist candidates based on their qualifications, experience and overall profile before calling them for the examination/interview.

Online Examination:

• 100 objective-type questions
• Total duration: 2 hours
• English Language – 25 Questions / 25 Marks
• General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry – 25 Questions / 25 Marks
• Professional Knowledge – 50 Questions / 50 Marks
• For Generalist Officer (Branch Management), the examination pattern includes English Language and Professional Knowledge.
• There is a negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer.

Interview:

• Maximum Marks: 100
• Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for Unreserved candidates
• Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for Reserved candidates
• The final merit list will give 80% weightage to the Online Examination and 20% weightage to the Interview.
