Qualification
1. Scientist “B” (R&D)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Materials Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials & Metallurgical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or institute.
- A Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline and one year of R&D experience are desirable.
2. Officer “B” (Finance & Accounts)
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or institute with a good academic record, or equivalent.
- Applicants must satisfy the prescribed government service and deputation eligibility requirements.
- Substantial experience in Finance & Accounts in government departments, scientific/autonomous institutions or similar organizations is essential.
3. Technical Assistant “A”
- B.Sc. in Physical Sciences with Chemistry as one of the subjects, or equivalent; OR
- Three-year full-time Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Candidates possessing higher qualifications specified as ineligible in the notification will not be considered.
4. Assistant “A”
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with a good academic record, or equivalent.
- Three years of relevant experience in administration, establishment, HR, finance and accounts, purchase and inventory, liaison work or related areas is essential.
- Knowledge of MS Office, e-Office and ERP applications is required.
5. Technician “A”
- 10th/SSC pass.
- Two-year full-time ITI in Fitter, Turner or Electrician trade from a recognized technical education board.
- Three years of technical experience in industry or R&D laboratories is essential.
6. Driver “A”
- 10th/SSC pass or equivalent.
- Valid driving licence for light and heavy vehicles.
- Knowledge of motor mechanism and minor vehicle repairs.
- At least three years of light-vehicle driving experience and six years of heavy-vehicle driving experience after obtaining the relevant licences.
- Knowledge of vehicle logbooks and related records.

Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive monthly gross emoluments according to the applicable 7th Central Pay Commission pay level and government norms.
- Scientist “B” (R&D): Approximately ₹1,18,110 per month
- Officer “B” (Finance & Accounts): Approximately ₹1,18,110 per month
- Technical Assistant “A”: Approximately ₹73,020 per month
- Assistant “A”: Approximately ₹61,240 per month
- Technician “A”: Approximately ₹54,210 per month
- Driver “A”: Approximately ₹39,970 per month
The notification states that gross emoluments include basic pay, DA, HRA and Transport Allowance, as applicable. Other benefits may include NPS, gratuity, group insurance, medical reimbursement, Children Education Allowance and Leave Travel Concession, subject to prevailing rules.
Age Limit
- Scientist “B” (R&D): Not exceeding 30 years
- Officer “B” (Finance & Accounts): Not exceeding 56 years
- Technical Assistant “A”: Not exceeding 30 years
- Assistant “A”: Not exceeding 28 years
- Technician “A”: Not exceeding 28 years
- Driver “A”: Not exceeding 27 years
Age relaxation and other applicable conditions will be as per the official notification and relevant rules.
Application Fee
Scientist “B” and Officer “B”
- General and OBC candidates: ₹600
- SC, EWS, PwD/Divyangjan, Women and Ex-Servicemen candidates: ₹400
Technical Assistant “A”, Assistant “A”, Technician “A” and Driver “A”
- General and OBC candidates: ₹500
- SC, EWS, PwD/Divyangjan, Women and Ex-Servicemen candidates: ₹300
The non-refundable application processing fee must be paid through UPI or NEFT/RTGS as specified in the notification. Candidates must enter the transaction details and attach the payment receipt. Applicable bank or transaction charges may be additional.
Selection Process
The selection process varies according to the post and may include preliminary screening, a Computer-Based Competitive Written Examination (CWE), an interview, a trade/skill test or a driving test.
- Scientist “B” (R&D): CWE followed by Personal Interview.
- Officer “B” (Finance & Accounts): Shortlisting, presentation and Personal Interview.
- Technical Assistant “A”: CWE followed by a qualifying Trade/Skill Test.
- Assistant “A”: CWE followed by a qualifying Skill Test.
- Technician “A”: CWE followed by a qualifying Trade/Skill Test.
- Driver “A”: CWE followed by Skill and Driving Tests.
