Qualification
- Navik (General Duty): 12th Class passed with Mathematics and Physics from a school education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
- Navik (Domestic Branch): 10th Class passed from a school education board recognized by COBSE.
- Yantrik (Mechanical): 10th Class passed from a school education board recognized by COBSE and a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile/Electrical & Electronics/Mechanical-related engineering discipline as specified in the notification.
- Yantrik (Electrical): 10th Class passed from a school education board recognized by COBSE and a 3-year Diploma in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics/related engineering discipline as specified.
- Yantrik (Electronics): 10th Class passed from a school education board recognized by COBSE and a 3-year Diploma in Electronics/Telecommunication/Electronics & Communication/related engineering discipline as specified.
Note: Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification and marks as mentioned in the official advertisement. Diploma candidates must ensure that their diploma branch matches the eligible disciplines specified for the respective Yantrik post.
Age Limit
The age eligibility differs according to the post and batch:
- Navik (GD) – 01/2027 & 02/2027: Candidates should be born between 01 November 2005 and 30 April 2009.
- Navik (DB) – 02/2027: Candidates should be born between 01 November 2005 and 01 October 2009.
- Yantrik – 01/2027: Candidates should be born between 01 November 2005 and 30 April 2009.
Age Relaxation:
- OBC candidates: 3 years
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive basic pay along with Dearness Allowance and other applicable allowances and benefits.
- Navik (General Duty): Basic Pay ₹21,700 – Pay Level-3 + applicable DA and other allowances.
- Navik (Domestic Branch): Basic Pay ₹21,700 – Pay Level-3 + applicable DA and other allowances.
- Yantrik: Basic Pay ₹29,200 – Pay Level-5 + Yantrik Pay ₹6,200 + applicable DA and other allowances.
Therefore, the salary can be approximately ₹21,700 basic pay for Navik and ₹35,400 basic + Yantrik Pay for Yantrik, before applicable DA and other allowances. The actual monthly gross/in-hand salary will depend on applicable allowances and place of posting.

Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages:
- Stage-I: Computer Based Examination
- Stage-II: Assessment, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Document Verification and related examination
- Stage-III: Medical Examination
- Final Selection: Based on merit, vacancies and applicable selection criteria.
Stage-I – Computer Based Examination
The first stage of the recruitment process is a Computer Based Examination. The examination will contain objective-type questions as prescribed for the respective post.
- The examination is based on the prescribed syllabus for the respective post.
- The question paper will be available in English and Hindi.
- Candidates must satisfy the prescribed qualifying requirements to proceed to the next stage.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Candidates shortlisted for Stage-II will have to undergo the Physical Fitness Test.
- Male Candidates: 1.6 Km run within 7 minutes, 20 Squat-Ups and 10 Push-Ups.
- Female Candidates: 1.6 Km run within 8 minutes, 15 Squat-Ups and 10 Push-Ups.
The PFT will be conducted without any break in between the activities as prescribed by the Indian Coast Guard.
Medical Examination
- Medical examination will be conducted by authorized Medical Officers as per Indian Coast Guard standards.
- Candidates must satisfy the prescribed physical and medical standards.
- Height, weight, chest, hearing, vision and general health will be assessed as applicable.
- Candidates must be free from conditions that may interfere with training or service duties.
