Qualification

• ITI in Electrician Trade from a recognised institution, or
• Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics from a recognised institution.
• Must possess a valid competency / authorization / electrical licence applicable for supervision or operation of electrical installations up to and including 33 kV.
• The licence/authorization must be valid and applicable to the duties proposed to be performed at the Institute.
• Candidates should have sound knowledge of HT electrical systems, electrical safety and statutory requirements.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in operation and maintenance of HT electrical systems/substations.
• Experience in 33 kV HT substations, transformers, VCB panels, RMUs, protection relays, HT metering, LT panels and DG systems will be preferred.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of electrical installations in educational institutions, universities, large campuses, industrial establishments, commercial buildings or similar facilities will be an added advantage.

Salary Details

• Electrician (33 kV Licensed): Outsourcing basis

• Maximum Age: Preferably not exceeding 45 years as on the last date of application.

Selection Process

• Scrutiny of applications and verification of eligibility.
• Shortlisting based on qualification, relevant experience and 33 kV electrical competency/licence.
• Technical / Skill Assessment, wherever considered necessary.
• Personal Interview before the duly constituted Selection Committee.
• Verification of original educational qualification, experience certificates and valid electrical licence/authorization before engagement.

Job Responsibilities

• Operation and maintenance of the 33 kV HT electrical system and associated HT/LT substations.
• Supervision of HT switching operations, shutdowns, restoration of power supply and emergency electrical operations.
• Operation and maintenance of HT panels, VCBs, RMUs, transformers, protection systems and HT metering equipment.
• Monitoring and maintenance of LT panels, DG sets, APFC panels, UPS systems and other electrical installations.
• Planning and implementation of preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Ensuring proper functioning and periodic testing of protection relays, CTs, PTs, VCBs, interlocking systems and metering systems.
• Ensuring proper maintenance of earthing systems, lightning protection systems and electrical safety installations.
• Maintaining records of electrical equipment, inspections, testing, maintenance, breakdowns, shutdowns and energy consumption.
• Coordinating with the concerned electricity distribution utility, Electrical Inspectorate and other statutory authorities for HT electrical matters.
• Supervising electrical contractors, service agencies, technicians and outsourced manpower engaged for electrical works.
• Ensuring electrical works are carried out by appropriately qualified, licensed and authorised personnel.
• Reviewing electrical drawings, Single Line Diagrams, test reports, maintenance reports and technical documents.
• Attending electrical breakdowns and emergencies and coordinating timely restoration of power supply while ensuring safety procedures.
• Assisting the Institute in planning and execution of new electrical works, transformer augmentation, HT capacity enhancement and campus electrical infrastructure development.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable electrical safety requirements, statutory regulations and instructions issued by competent authorities.
• Carrying out other electrical, operation, maintenance and safety-related duties assigned by the Institute.

Desirable Skills

• Good knowledge of 33 kV HT electrical systems and substations.
• Knowledge of HT switching and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of transformers, VCBs, RMUs and protection relays.
• Knowledge of electrical testing and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and statutory compliance.
• Ability to coordinate with electrical contractors, utility authorities and statutory departments.
• Ability to maintain electrical records, reports and maintenance schedules.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to prepare technical reports.
