Qualification
Option 1:
- B.Sc. (Hons) in Nursing from a recognized University or Institute.
- OR Regular course in B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute.
- OR Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute.
- Candidates must be registered as a Nurse or Nurse and Mid-wife (RN or RN & RM) with a State Nursing Council.
Option 2:
- Diploma in General Nursing and Mid-wifery from a recognized Board or Council.
- Registered as a Nurse or Nurse and Mid-wife from a State Nursing Council.
- One year of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the required educational qualification.

Salary Details
Pay Scale: Level-7 as per 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix
Salary: Rs. 44,900 – Rs. 1,42,400/-
Age Limit
Age Limit: 18 to 35 years.
The crucial date for determining age, qualification and experience is 3rd October 2026, which is the last date for submission of the online application.
Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules. The notification specifies relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PwBD, with additional provisions for eligible PwBD + SC/ST and PwBD + OBC candidates.
Application Fee
- PwBD Candidates: Exempted from payment of fee
- SC/ST Candidates: Rs. 800/- + applicable transaction charges
- General/OBC/EWS Candidates: Rs. 1,500/- + applicable transaction charges
The application fee can be paid through the online payment gateway using Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking. PGIMER advises candidates to avoid payment through UPI.
Selection Process
The selection process will consist of the following stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Shortlisting based on CBT merit
- Scrutiny of Applications
- Document Verification
- Final Selection based on CBT merit
There will be no interview for this Group ‘B’ post. Final selection will be based on merit in the Computer Based Test after eligibility and document verification.

- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS candidates and 35% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Shortlisting
Candidates qualifying in the CBT will be shortlisted category-wise for further scrutiny and document verification.
- Generally, 3 candidates per advertised post plus ties will be shortlisted.
- Reserved category candidates securing marks above the UR cut-off may also be included as per the notification.
