SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026. Through this recruitment, SSC will fill approximately 2,536 vacancies for Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO) and Data Entry Operator Grade ‘A’ posts in various Ministries, Departments and Offices of the Government of India.

Qualification
LDC/JSA:
- 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’:
- 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
For DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in specified departments:
- 12th Standard in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply, provided they obtain the required qualification on or before the prescribed date.
Salary Details
- LDC / JSA: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200 (Pay Level-2)
- DEO: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 (Pay Level-4)
- DEO: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 (Pay Level-5)
- DEO Grade ‘A’: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 (Pay Level-4)
Selected candidates will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other benefits as per Central Government rules.

Exam Pattern
Tier-I:
- English Language – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- General Intelligence – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- Quantitative Aptitude – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- General Awareness – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- Total: 100 Questions (200 Marks)
- Duration: 60 Minutes
Negative Marking:
- 0.50 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in Tier-I.

Typing Test / Skill Test
DEO:
- 15,000 key depressions per hour for specified departments.
- 8,000 key depressions per hour for other DEO posts.
LDC/JSA Typing Test:
- English: 35 words per minute
- Hindi: 30 words per minute
The Skill Test/Typing Test is qualifying in nature.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
- UR: 30%
- OBC / EWS: 25%
- All Other Categories: 20%
