The training period for all the above trades is 01 year.
Qualification
Applicants must have passed ITI in the relevant trade prescribed for the respective apprenticeship post.
- Welder: Passed ITI in the trade of Welder.
- Electrician: Passed ITI in the trade of Electrician.
- Fitter: Passed ITI in the trade of Fitter.
- Motor Mechanic: Passed ITI in the trade of Motor Mechanic (Motor Vehicle).
- Electronics: Passed ITI in the trade of Electronics (Mechanic).
Salary Details
The selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as mentioned below:
- Welder: Rs. 8,344.60 per month
- Electrician: Rs. 9,387.67 per month
- Fitter: Rs. 9,387.67 per month
- Motor Mechanic: Rs. 9,387.67 per month
- Electronics (Mechanic): Rs. 9,387.67 per month
Age Limit
Candidates should have completed a minimum of 14 years of age as on 31st August 2026.
Reservation
- Reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) will be provided as per the applicable reservation rules under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
Selection Process
The engagement of Trade Apprentices will be made purely on the basis of merit.
- Selection will be based on the aggregate marks obtained in ITI.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for certificate verification.
- Preference will be given to children of VPA employees according to the ratio and sub-ratio specified in the notification.
- Trade allotment will be made at the discretion of the Head of the Department.
Note: TA/DA will not be paid by VPA for attending certificate verification. Boarding and lodging expenses will also not be provided.

Eligible candidates should apply online through the Apprenticeship India / NAPS Apprentice Portal.
- Step 1: Candidates should register on the NAPS Apprentice Portal.
- Step 2: After registration, go to “Find an Apprentice Opportunity” and select “Search Opportunity”.
- Step 3: Select the relevant trade.
- Step 4: Select the course type as Designated.
- Step 5: Select the location as Andhra Pradesh.
- Step 6: Search for the establishment as “Visakhapatnam Port Authority”.
- Step 7: Select the appropriate apprenticeship opportunity and click “Apply”.
