Qualification
- Candidates must have passed the Secondary School Examination (10th Standard) with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized Board of School Education.
- Candidates must have studied the prescribed local language up to 10th Standard.
- Candidates should have knowledge of computers.
- Candidates should have knowledge of cycling.
- Candidates should have an adequate means of livelihood.
The 10th-standard qualification and local-language requirement are prescribed under the eligibility criteria in the notification.
Salary Details
- Branch Postmaster (BPM): Rs. 12,000/- to Rs. 29,380/-
- Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM): Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 24,470/-
- Dak Sevak: Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 24,470/-
The remuneration is provided in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA). GDS employees are also eligible for Dearness Allowance and certain other allowances and social-security benefits as applicable under the GDS Rules.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 40 Years
- Age will be calculated as on the last date of submission of the online application.
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 Years
- OBC: 3 Years
- EWS: No relaxation
- PwBD: 10 Years
- PwBD + OBC: 13 Years
- PwBD + SC/ST: 15 Years

The application fee is applicable for all posts selected within the chosen Division. Eligible exempted categories can submit the application without paying the fee.
Selection Process
There is no written examination or interview for selection to the GDS posts. Candidates will be shortlisted through a system-generated merit list.

The merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the 10th Standard Secondary School Examination, with marks aggregated to a percentage calculated to four decimal places.

- Enter the required personal and educational details.
- Select the preferred Division and eligible posts.
- Upload the required recent photograph and signature.
- Pay the application fee, if applicable.
- Preview the application carefully.
- Submit the application before the last date.
- Save a copy of the submitted application for future reference.
Only online applications submitted through the official GDS portal will be accepted.
