Qualification
A candidate shall be eligible for appointment as Special Judicial Magistrate of II Class if the candidate meets any of the prescribed eligibility conditions, including:
- Should have held a post in the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service and retired or resigned; or
- Should have held a post in the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Ministerial Subordinate Service not below the rank of Superintendent and possess a Law Degree; or
- Should have held the post of Section Officer or above in the Andhra Pradesh High Court Service and possess a Law Degree; or
- Should have practised as an Advocate for at least 5 years and should not presently be on the rolls of the Bar Council; or
- Should be a retired Gazetted Officer possessing a Law Degree or having passed the prescribed Criminal Judicial Test and having exercised Magisterial powers during service for not less than 3 years.
A suitable retired Judicial Officer will be given preference as mentioned in the notification.
Age Limit
Non-practising Advocates with at least 5 years of practice at the Bar who are above 45 years and below 65 years of age are eligible.
In the case of retired persons, candidates who have at least one and a half years remaining to complete 65 years of age, as on the date of notification, are eligible.
Disqualifications
A person shall not be eligible if he/she falls under the disqualifications prescribed in the Andhra Pradesh Special Judicial Magistrate of II Class Service Rules, 2024, including practising Advocates, members of State or local authorities, members of the State Legislature or Parliament, persons dismissed or removed from Government service for major misconduct, persons convicted for offences involving moral turpitude, and other categories specified in the notification.
Salary Details
Honorarium: Rs. 45,000/- per month
Conveyance: Rs. 5,000/- per month
The notification states that the conveyance amount is subject to enhancement by the Government from time to time.
Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted as prescribed under the Andhra Pradesh Special Judicial Magistrate of II Class Service Rules, 2024.

The notification states that the Committee of Judges will conduct either a written test or interview or both and select the candidates.
Holding of Court
Special Judicial Magistrates of II Class shall hold Court work for 5 days a week, from Monday to Friday, on working days between 7:30 AM and 10:30 AM.

- Attested copies of educational qualifications, including Law Degree and technical courses.
- Attested copy of Enrollment Certificate at the Bar, in case of Advocates.
- Attested copy of Departmental Tests passed, in case of retired employees.
- Pension Certificate copy, applicable to retired employees.
- Service Certificate, applicable to retired employees.
- Certificate of exercising Magisterial powers for not less than 3 years, where applicable.
- For Advocates, certificate of previous practice for not less than 5 years.
- Certificate of suspension of practice issued by the State Bar Association.
- Certificate of suspension of practice issued by the Bar Association where the candidate previously practised.
- Recent passport-size photographs as prescribed.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates should download and fill the application form in the prescribed proforma. Candidates applying for the above posts must submit a single application covering all the posts, indicating their order of preference.
The completed application along with the necessary attested copies of certificates and passport-size photographs in duplicate should be submitted to the Principal District Court, West Godavari District, Eluru.
Applications must reach the Principal District Court on or before 31st August 2026, up to 5:00 PM.
Applications received after the due date will not be considered. The office will not be responsible for any delay in postal delivery.
