SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026: The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the recruitment notification for Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) posts in the Clerical Cadre. A total of 9,124 vacancies are available, including regular and backlog vacancies. Candidates with a graduation degree in any discipline can apply online before the last date.

Candidates who have studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th Standard and produce the relevant marksheet or certificate will not be required to appear for the Local Language Proficiency Test.

Qualification

Candidates must possess a Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

Candidates having an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31st December 2026.

Final-year or final-semester graduation candidates may also apply provisionally. However, if provisionally selected, they must produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31st December 2026.

Matriculate Ex-Servicemen who have obtained the prescribed Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after completing at least 15 years of service are also eligible, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.

Salary Details

Pay Scale: ₹24,050 – ₹64,480/-

Starting Basic Pay: ₹26,730/-

The starting basic pay includes ₹24,050/- plus two advance increments admissible to graduate Junior Associates.

Starting Emoluments: Approximately ₹46,000/- per month in a metro city such as Mumbai.

The starting emoluments include applicable Dearness Allowance, other allowances and two additional increments admissible to newly recruited graduate Junior Associates.

Selected candidates will also be eligible for various benefits and facilities as per SBI rules, including:

  • Other applicable bank benefits and allowances

The total monthly emoluments may vary depending upon the place of posting.

Age Limit

Minimum Age: 20 Years

Maximum Age: 28 Years

Age will be calculated as on 1st April 2026. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2nd April 1998 and not later than 1st April 2006.

Age Relaxation

  • OBC: 3 Years
  • SC / ST: 5 Years
  • PwBD – General / EWS: 10 Years
  • PwBD – OBC: 13 Years
  • PwBD – SC / ST: 15 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen: As per the prescribed rules
  • Widows / Divorced Women / Women Judicially Separated from Husband and not Remarried: 7 Years, subject to the prescribed maximum age limits
  • Trained Apprentices of SBI: Category-wise age relaxation as specified in the notification

Application Fee

SC / ST / PwBD / XS / DXS Candidates: No Fee

General / OBC / EWS Candidates: ₹750/-

The application fee and intimation charges are non-refundable.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of the following stages:

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Examination
  • Local Language Proficiency Test, wherever applicable

Preliminary Examination

English Language: 30 Questions – 30 Marks – 20 Minutes

Numerical Ability: 35 Questions – 35 Marks – 20 Minutes

Reasoning Ability: 35 Questions – 35 Marks – 20 Minutes

Total: 100 Questions – 100 Marks – 1 Hour

There will be a negative marking of 1/4th mark for every wrong answer.

Main Examination

General / Financial Awareness: 50 Questions – 50 Marks – 35 Minutes

General English: 40 Questions – 40 Marks – 35 Minutes

Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Questions – 50 Marks – 45 Minutes

Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude: 50 Questions – 60 Marks – 45 Minutes

Total: 190 Questions – 200 Marks – 2 Hours 40 Minutes

There will be a negative marking of 1/4th mark for every wrong answer.

Local Language Proficiency Test

Candidates who have not studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th Standard must qualify in the Local Language Proficiency Test after qualifying in the Main Examination and before joining the Bank.

Candidates who fail to qualify the language test will not be offered appointment.

Final Selection

Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be added to the final merit list.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination, subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions and qualifying the Local Language Proficiency Test wherever applicable.

The merit list will be prepared State-wise and category-wise.

Probation Period

Selected Junior Associates will be on probation for a minimum period of 6 months.

During the probation period, newly recruited Junior Associates must complete the e-lessons prescribed by SBI. The probation period may be extended if the prescribed requirements are not completed or performance is not satisfactory.

Pre-Examination Training

SBI will arrange online pre-examination training for eligible SC / ST / OBC / Ex-Servicemen / PwBD candidates as per Government of India guidelines.

Candidates who wish to avail themselves of the training should select the appropriate option while filling the online application.
